Dakune Lodge and Chalet are two delightful wooden Lockwood buildings in Ohakune, the Carrot Capital of New Zealand, a small, charming resort town, and a gateway to the Tongariro National Park. Ohakune is 20 mins from Turoa ski fields, and 40 mins from Whakapapa.

Dakune Lodge sleeps 30 and Dakune Chalet sleeps up to 10.  Both are available to rent though the Winter and Summer seasons.  Both are rented as sole occupancy.

From indoor rock climbing or toboggan play with the kids, guided horse treks, fishing, short bush walks and easy cycle trails, Ohakune has a plethora of family friendly activities to enjoy.  If you are looking for an adrenaline shot skiing on the active volcano of Mount Ruapehu, a biking or hiking adventure, or a more relaxing time snuggled up in front of our cozy fire, Dakune Lodge &  Chalet is the place for you.
